McDaniel Family Investments operates a range of businesses, including laundromats and shopping centers, but the heart of the company is Piggly Wiggly Food For Less, a family-owned, independent grocery company with 14 stores across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
Piggly Wiggly Food For Less is committed to providing affordable groceries, supporting local communities, and preserving the important role independent grocers play in the communities they serve. Unlike national chains and big-box retailers, independent grocers can respond to local needs in a personal way, from supporting schools, youth programs, and community fundraisers to helping local nonprofits, families, and organizations they know by name.
The company got its start in 1989, when William Ralph McDaniel purchased the hometown IGA grocery store. In the early 1990s, the company transitioned from IGA to the Piggly Wiggly brand. Today, the company is owned and operated by brothers Kevin and Cody McDaniel.
